2008 Signatory Vintage Knockdhu 16 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Sherried hits are a running theme in the latest Signatory shipment, on this occasion, from one of the least known distilleries in the region (even indies have a hard time getting their hands on Knockdhu!) The wine influence might be dialled back slightly (it's a second fill oloroso sherry butt), but you can expect notes of chewy fruitcake, blood orange, toasted walnut and hints of cherry liqueur. 677 bottles filled at 56.9% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Other reviews... Nice full whisky where you can smell the bourbon barrel quite strongly since 2fill is not that dominant. Decent interplay of sherry and bourbon which I really like. Vanilla sweet and sour fruit a little pineapple and in the background there are unripe cherries which give it a great taste. Will want another bottle here. - whiskybase.com
