2008 Ralph Fowler Merlot

Opaque black dark red colour with deep dark red hue. The nose displays very ripe plummy top notes followed by some dark chocolate and spice. The palate is also very ripe and quite rich but also jammy with flavours of dark plum jam and dark chocolate followed by some toasty vanillin oak characters that linger through to the aftertaste. Fine grained soft tannins. Aftertaste of dark plum jam, spice and toasty vanillin oak.
Drink over the next 2 years (2011-2013).
