2008 Pindarie Shiraz

This excellent Barossa Shiraz was matured for 16 months in both French and American oak with 20% new oak being employed to enhance the tannin structure and compliment the rich fruit flavours. Impenetrable inky black dark red colour with deep black dark crimson red hue. Ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark chocolate aromas dominate the nose followed by some vanillin confectionary and spice notes showing very good intensity. Very well endowed the palate delivers a rich ripe opulent flavour profile of blackberry, dark plum and liquorice followed by some dark chocolate and spice. Slightly firmish but balanced tannins. Long plush aftertaste of ripe blackberry, dark chocolate, liquorice and spice.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
