The Layers Red is a blend of 5 grape varieties; 46% Shiraz, 20% Mourvèdre, 17% Tempranillo, 15% Grenache and 2% Carignan, picked from different vineyards throughout the Barossa. The wine was matured for 7 months in a combination of older French & American oak.
Dark red mauve colour with crimson mauve hue. The nose displays subtle aromas of plum, cherries, spice and confectionary. Light to medium weight with joosy flavours of plum, cherry, spice and blackpepper. Fine grained soft tannins with aftertaste of spice, plum and cherry. A well made medium weight quaffer.Cellar 1-2 years (2010-2011)
