Matured for 11 months in French oak over a period of 2 years this is Maxwell’s top label. Saturated inky black colour with very deep black crimson red hue. The nose displays scents of ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark plum along with some light toasty oak and spice. Full bodied and densely concentrated, yet quite elegant in structure, the palate possesses an expansive flavour profile of liquorice, blackberry, vanillin confectionary, blackpepper and spice. Exceptional length. Velvet smooth tannins with long liquorice, blackpepper and vanillin spice aftertaste.
