2008 Kaesler Old Vine Shiraz

Blended from three estate vineyards with vines aged between 40 and 60 years old, the wine was matured for 18 months in French oak. Spectacular super saturated inky black colour with very deep black dark crimson red hue. An intense sniff of ripe blackberries, liquorice and dark plum is followed by some dark chocolate, vanillin confectionary and spice. Super concentrated and boasting fabulous richness the palate delivers ripe opulent flavours of blackberry, liquorice and black plum along with some confectionary and a spicy back palate. Solid, slightly dryish but fine grained tannins provide excellent support to the lavish volumes of fruit. Superb depth with very long liquorice, ripe blackberry, black plum and spice aftertaste.
