Matured for 18 months in French oak of which one third was new. Translucent bright light crimson red colour with mauve crimson hue. Perfumed top notes of violets and dark cherry followed by some anise with a spicy cedar overtone showing excellent varietal character. Light to medium weight the palate displays generous spicy dark cherry and strawberry flavours followed by some plum and cedar. Fine grained tannins. Excellent power wave with long aftertaste of dark cherry, spice, strawberry and anise.
Drink over the next 3-4 years (2010-2014).
