2008 Heartland Stickleback Red

Produced from a blend of 61% Shiraz, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Dolcetto and 5% Lagrein, this wine was matured for 12 months in 2-3 year old French and American oak.

Opaque black crimson red colour with black crimson hue. The nose is quite lifted displaying excellent intensity for its price point – dark cherry, blackberry, liquorice allsorts and confectionary. The palate's generosity is a real surprise – 'joosy' flavours of ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark plum – mouthfilling – followed by a very spicy back palate. Soft fine grained tannin structure with long spicy blackpepper and blackberry aftertaste.
