2008 Gordon & Macphail Connoisseurs Choice Ledaig 12 Year Old Hermitage Cask Finished Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

G&M appear to be fans of matching peated whiskies with red wine casks, with many a fine Caol Ila coming to market after a spell in such barrels. This peated Tobermory (aka Ledaig) was matured in refill sherry hogsheads before being finished in Hermitage casks for three years. Apart from the obvious ruby-red blush, G&M say the barrels have contributed some sweet Summer berry characteristics, while retaining the lingering smoky edge typical to Ledaig. 4440 bottles are on offer globally. 45% Alc./Vol.
