Semi translucent deep crimson mauve colour with crimson mauve hue. The nose displays a lifted aniseed top note followed by some dark cherry, violets and spice. The palate does not flow on from the nose and is some what disappointing with flavours of dark cherry, strawberry and spicy toasted oak. Slightly chalky tannins with moderate length and aftertaste of dark cherry, toast and spice.
