2008 Gibson Australian Old Vine Collection Eden Valley Shiraz

Tasted November 5th 2011: Totally opaque super saturated inky black crimson colour with very deep black dark crimson red hue. The nose offers up perfumed scents of ripe blackberry, violets and dark plum followed by some dark chocolate, liquorice and spice notes delivering excellent intensity. Super concentrated palate flavours, yet not over bearing, with powerful dark chocolate, blackberry and black plum flavours followed by some liquorice, confectionary and spice characters delivering a layered flavour profile. Absolutely superb depth and persistence with a monster finish that goes on and on. Silky smooth tannin structure with exceptionally long aftertaste of dark chocolate, ripe blackberry, liquorice and spice.
