Closure: Cork
This wine comes with a new type of closure that takes a he-man effort to open and what’s more it’s missing the requiste cork ‘pop’ associated with opening a sparkling wine, instead one gets a slight fizz similar to the opening of a bottle of lemonade. It is however re-sealable, a consideration for those who like an afternoon glass or two without the added expense of smaller size bottlings.
Produced from a blend of 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay. Good creamy white mousse with very pale straw colour base wine. Exceptionally fine bead with excellent persistence. Aromas of biscuit, toast and yeast lees – quite a refined sniff. Relatively dry palate flavours of toasty yeast lees, brioche and baked bread. Creamy texture with good palate length. Aftertaste of yeast lees, toast and brioche.Drink over the next 2-3 years (2009-2012)
