This wine commemorates the life of the late cofounder of Elderton Estate, Neil Ashmead, who was a very keen racing car enthusiast. In the early 1980’s he used to belt across from the Barossa in his white GTS and market the wine from his boot – how times have changed! This wine is well themed with a screw cap featuring a 6 shift racing gear configuration – doesn’t help to open the screw cap as all the gears are up and down with only reverse as a side shift.

Very deep vibrant purple mauve colour with mauve hue. Lifted nose of freshly crushed blackberries, vanilla, spice and ripe plum. The palate displays flavours of plum, spice and stewed fruit followed by vanilla and confectionary. Moderate length. Fine grained soft tannins.
Cellar 1-2 years (2010-2011)
