Semi translucent bright crimson red colour with crimson mauve hue. The nose displays aromas of dark cherries, plum, cedar and spice with a light meaty overlay. Light to medium weight the palate is quite dry with flavours of dark cherries, cedary meat like characters and spice with some earth on the finish. Fine grained, slightly dryish tannins. Aftertaste of dark cherry, meaty cedar and spice.
Cellar 3-4 years (2014-2015).
Alc 12.5%
Other Reviews….
The 2008 Chambolle-Musigny is finessed and haunting. This shows tons of harmony in its crushed flowers, hard candy and berries, all of which flow gracefully towards the saline, mineral-drenched finish. With time in the glass the layers of fruit flesh out with notable beauty and elegance. The Chambolle is a classic, translucent wine in 2008, and will delight readers who prefer the nuanced side of Burgundy. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028.
