Sourced from Crabtree’s 50 year old Picnic Hill block maturation took place in a combination of new, one and two year old French oak barriques for 18 months.
Totally opaque black crimson colour with black heart and very deep dark crimson black hue. Perfumed aromas of liquorice, ripe blackberry, violets and dark plum displaying good lift and varietal character. Full bodied with generous flavours of liquorice, blackberry and confectionary followed by some liquorice allsorts and spice on the back palate. Very fine grained tannins with long aftertaste of liquorice, confectionary and spice.
