Dark red fruits develop with menthol, followed by a deep, earthy, sweet peat aspect that just feels emphatically ‘Mullish’. Love the rusticity of the phenols here, different to Highland or Islay and with a salty lick that makes for a classically intense and engaging Ledaig sniff. Impeccable balance and integration between flavours of port-soaked pipe tobacco, berry sponge cake and chocolatey peat, with a little twist of maritime complexing the finish.
