2008 Blackadder Raw Cask Glenallachie 11 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

This was a refill butt so the sherry influence is modest and easily matched by the weight of the malt. Plump, pineapple pudding aromatics follow with Glenallachie's mouthfilling, super-textural style which is immediately evident on entry; It thins out slightly through the middle stages before rounding off in an oily, tongue-coating, succulent and slightly nipping finish. To try a 'pure' Glenallachie with less 'dressing' than the official distillery expressions is a pleasure. Too many now tend towards multiple oak types in a single bottling. Distilled on the 23rd of September 2008. 63% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered. 589 bottles.
