A full fifteen years in a first-fill Spanish oak sherry butt have afforded one of the darkest whiskies to ever pass through Rattray's sample room. In their own words: "A flawless example of a very particular style that will be perfect in the eyes of many." Judging by the spectacular, deep mahogany colour and expected notes of dried fruits, spice and wood, this will be a winner for sherry-heads! Said to be from an oloroso cask, 627 bottles were filled at an intense 64.5% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Notes from the bottlers... Colour: Dark vermillion. Nose: Sticky raisin, tangy orange and crystallised ginger. Palate: Muscovado sugar, black liquorice and maraschino cherry. Finish: Prolonged with refined notes of charcuterie, leather and tobacco.
