A full fifteen years in a first fill Spanish oak sherry butt have afforded one of the darkest whiskies to ever pass through Rattray's sample room. In their own words: "A flawless example of a very particular style that will be perfect in the eyes of many." Notes from the bottlers... Colour: Dark vermillion. Nose: Sticky raisin, tangy orange and crystallised ginger. Palate: Muscovado sugar, black liquorice and maraschino cherry. Finish: Prolonged with refined notes of charcuterie, leather and tobacco.
