A single vineyard wine planted by Dave Powell in 1994, with cuttings off old Run Rig vineyards, the Descendant was Barossa's first co-fermented Shiraz Viognier. Shiraz is crushed straight on top of Viognier and the blend of fruit is then co-fermented and then matured for 18 months in barrels that had been previously used for Run Rig.

Another exotic, lavish offering from winemaker Dave Powell.
Opaque dark red crimson colour with dark crimson mauve hue. Superb aromatic profile – lifted notes of violets, blackberries, liquorice allsorts, confectionary and spice, followed by a hint of dried apricot for added complexity. The palate displays superb concentration but also possesses structure. Flavours of liquorice allsorts, spice, confectionary and dark plum followed by some apricot end notes – all seamlessly integrated. Velvet silk like tannin structure with long aftertaste of liquorice allsorts, confectionary, spice and a hint of black pepper.
