Obscurity features here, Glen Spey's relatively modest production was always intended for blends, with the first semi-official bottling only released in 2001. Yet, ironically, the distillery is located in the heartland of Scotland's whisky industry. Signatory keep the fire burning with a natural strength edition from a first-fill oloroso butt. 646 bottles 57.3% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Pungent, spicy, relatively full, the impression is spoiled by the acidity of the fruit (orchard) grapes, chocolate, relatively dry, vanilla, woodiness, melon compote and pineapple, the alcohol is felt quite strongly compared to the other samples from the set, but not disturbingly.
