Other reviews... [notes from sister cask #9] Nose: Needs time and air. Dates, raisins, prunes, leather, old man's perfume. Taste: The alcohol is surprisingly well integrated. The 57.1% alcohol doesn't bite at all; this one felt more like 48-50%. Dark chocolate, nuts, dark roasted coffee beans, raisins. A few bitter notes in the first sip, then it gets sweeter with each sip. Pastries, caramel pudding, dried fruit. It's also the sweetness that noticeably tames the alcohol. Finish: The finish doesn't offer any real surprises. It remains deliciously drinkable on the classic, sweet sherry note. - whiskybase.com
