Matured in a combination of French and American oak for 18 months. Totally opaque inky black dark red colour with very dark red black tinged hue. Nosing reveals ripe dark plum top notes followed by some liquorice, toasty vanillin oak, confectionary and spice. Round and opulent the palate possesses flavours of liquorice, some black plum, toasty vanillin oak and pepper. Slightly dryish on the finish with fine grained tannins. Medium to long liquorice, toasty vanillin oak and pepper aftertaste.
