2007 Masi Bonacosta Valpolicella Classico

A blend of 70% Corvina, 25% Rondinella and 5% Molinara the wine was matured for 6 months in 60-90 hl Slavonian oak barrels with 20% of the Corvina being aged in new Allier and Slavonian small oak casks.

Deep dark crimson red colour with crimson mauve hue. The nose displays lifted inky dark cherry aromas followed by some new leather and earth notes. Light to medium weight palate with flavours of sour cherry, spice and earth with a dry finish. Fine grained tannins with moderate length and short aftertaste of cherry and earth. A light dry red without much complexity or depth.
