2007 Lenton Brae Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon

2007 is proving to be a classic vintage for Margaret River Cabernets and Lenton Brae rate this as potentially one of their greatest Cabernets yet. Produced from a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Merlot, the wine was matured in a combination of new and one year-old French oak barriques for 20 months before being blended and bottled.

Deep dark crimson red colour with dark crimson mauve hue. The nose displays classic Margaret River Cabernet aromas of blackcurrant, violets, cedar and spice with cigar box and tobacco end notes – a superb sniff. Medium to full bodied with flavours of blackcurrant, dark chocolate, violet infusions, spice and tobacco. Very fine grained, slightly dryish tannins but in perfect balance. Long aftertaste of blackcurrant, spice and cigar box.
Cellar 4-5 years.
