A terrific buy given the bottle age behind it.
Totally opaque black dark red colour with very deep dark red hue. The nose presents an aromatic profile of liquorice, some blackberry, dried meats, blackpepper and a touch of confectionary. Full bodied and rich the palate possesses an abundance of fruit with mouthfilling flavours of liquorice, blackberry and black plum followed by some confectionary and blackpepper. Slightly dryish fine grained structured tannins are buried beneath a wealth of fruit. Excellent concentration and depth with long persistent ripe blackberry, liquorice, blackpepper and slightly earthy aftertaste.
Drink now or easily capable of a further 4-5 years cellaring (2012-2017).
