2007 Hidden Spirits Dailuaine 10 Year Old 'Peated Cask Finish' Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

A fascinating Dailuaine, finished in ex-Bourbon casks that (reportedly) held Bruichladdich's heavily peated Port Charlotte. Distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2018. Very limited stocks.

Tasting note: [20ml sample] Pale gold. Slightly green and gristy opening sniffs. Air time develops cocoa, walnut slice, sweet soot, then a jaffa / baked citrus quality. Five minutes of swirling finds the sweet smoke perfectly integrated with the fruity-oily malt. A whisky that's brimming with flavour: the barley so big it breaks through the considerable phenols. Bittersweet chocolate, then more smokiness... A fabulously dense, powerful, chewy Dailuaine. Quite a dram! 56.1% Alc./Vol.
