2007 Gordon & Macphail Connoisseurs Choice Glen Elgin 12 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Whisky writer, Jim Murray seems to have a penchant for Glen Elgin, describing it as "Diageo's top dog bottled Speysider". Only recently available as a single malt and more often the domain of independents, Gordon & Macphail are offering this cask strength edition matured in a single first Fill Sherry Butt (Cask No. 802872). From an outturn of 655 bottles, a fraction of that has been allocated to Australia. Distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2020. Comes non chill filtered.

Notes from G&M... Brown sugar and stewed slum aromas lead to subtle sanilla undertones. Toasted almond and black pepper notes give way to cinnamon. Smooth and mouth-coating with lingering fruitcake on the finish. 60% Alc./Vol.
