Single cask 17/106-8 is a Belgian exclusive of peated Glen Scotia that has several sister casks, like the one reviewed below. Distilled in April 2007 and bottled in February 2019 with an outturn of 324 bottles, it promises to show the wilder side of this distillery. According to the official tasting notes (dried fruit, orange peel, gentle peat), it also sounds like sherry and smoke play a leading role. Very limited stocks. 54% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Other reviews... [sister cask tasted] This is an official release in their so-called Single Cask Selection. The nose is pretty dirty on loads of peat that wrap a smoky jacket around all kinds of red fruit. Think strawberry, cherries and cranberries. Sweet and sour. I also get some nuts and a bit of chocolate. After Eight! That’s been a while, but it works very good here. After a few moments some bacon on the barbecue appears in the background. Rather umami. Great nose! It’s a perfect continuation on the palate. Very good. Oily, almost syrupy, on red fruit, origin chocolate, mint, bacon around a date, cherry juice and wonderfully smoky. The finish is long, piquant and offers red fruit, but also some chewing tobacco and smoke. At the death a surprising salty note appears. Fun! Well, well, those Glen Scotia single casks are really enjoyable. - connosr.com
