2007 Cullen Cullen Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

This wine is composed of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon. The wine has been fermented using wild yeasts and half the production was matured in French oak for 3 months, two thirds of the barrels were new.

Bright pale straw colour with water like hue. The nose is quite Graves like, with top note of dry hay, followed by confectionary and a grassy end note. The palate is quite dry, with a very clean, crisp acid backbone. Layers of lemon over a background of semi ripe tropical fruit. There is a real sense of austerity to this wine as the crisp lemon acid backbone dominates the aftertaste.
