2007 Chateau Gigognan Clos du Roi Chateauneuf du Pape

This Chateauneuf du Pape is comprised of 78% Grenache and 22% Syrah. Opaque black dark red colour with deep dark red hue. On the nose lifted scents of very ripe black plum and black raspberry are followed by a touch of liquorice with some spice end notes. Ripe and decadently rich the palate boasts voluptuously textured flavours of black plum, liquorice and black raspberry followed by some bacon fat like characters and spice. Velvet smooth tannins. Excellent power with long black plum, black raspberry, liquorice, bacon fat, leather and spice aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
