Semi translucent dark crimson red colour with crimson mauve hue. Quite perfumed nose with aromas of black cherry, violets, smoky oak, cedar and spice. The palate displays good weight but is missing the opulence and power of the 2006 vintage. Flavours of black cherry, spice and smoky oak. Fine grained dryish tannins with moderate aftertaste of spice, dark cherry and smoke. A disappointing follow up to the magnificent 2006.
