Matured for 18 months in new French oak barriques. Opaque dark red black colour with a dark red to brick red hue. Intense aromas of black raspberries, dark plums and liquorice are followed by vanillin cedar, earth and spicy pepper notes. Rich and concentrated with a slippery, velvet like texture the palate is flooded with luscious black raspberry, liquorice and dark plum flavours which dominate over a backdrop of vanillin cedar, some earthiness and spicy pepper infusions on the finish. Silky smooth tannins. Excellent power with a long conclusion of juicy black raspberries, dark plums, liquorice, vanillin cedar, a touch of earth and spice.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc 14.5%

Other Reviews….
The 2006 Les Amis is 100% Grenache aged in new oak for 18 months. Purple-colored, it exhibits an enthralling nose of smoky oak, roses, garrigue, lavender, black cherry, and black raspberry. It conceals enough ripe tannin to support 5-7 years of additional cellaring. This layered, lengthy effort should be at its best from 2012 to 2024.
