Excellent opaque crimson purple colour with deep crimson mauve hue. Aromas of ripe plum, liquorice allsorts, vanilla and confectionary – quite restrained. The palate displays good weight but is quite tight and lacks the power wave of flavour that the varietal is capable of delivering. Flavours of ripe plum, raspberry, spice, liquorice and confectionary. Fine grained dry tannins. Aftertaste of blackpepper and confectionary.
