2006 Oliver's Taranga Vineyards Vine Dried Cabernet Sauvignon

This is part of Oliver’s small batch collection, whereby two tonne parcels are selected from their 46 vineyard blocks – these selections are of the finest fruit that is produced. 25% of the grapes for this wine have been left to dry out on the vine, thereby concentrating the flavour – Amarone style.

Totally opaque black purple colour with black purple hue. Flavours of mocha, dark chocolate and coffee emerge over a background of spice and blackcurrant. The palate is very concentrated, with flavours of ripe blackcurrant and spice, laced with mocha and ripe plum. Fine, slightly chalky tannins. Very long aftertaste of liquorice, blackcurrant and prune.
