2006 Numanthia

Made from 50-100 year old Tinta de Toro vines the wine was matured in French oak for 18 months. Superb inky black red colour with very deep dark red black hue. The nose delivers a perfumed sniff of black cherry intermixed with some liquorice and earth followed by some toasty oak and a hint of spice. Super concentrated the palate explodes with rich opulent flavours of black cherry, black plum, liquorice and a touch of dark chocolate followed by nuances of dried meats and earth with a very spicy finish. Dryish and assertive but fine grained tannins showing good integration. Long black cherry, black plum, liquorice and spicy earth aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
