2006 Henry's Drive Shiraz

Matured in a combination of 70% American and 30% French oak hogsheads and barriques – 40% of which were new & 30% one year old & 30% two year old oak. Opaque deep purple red colour with brick red mauve hue, showing some development. Aromas of stewed plum, confectionary and liquorice. Flavours of stewed plum, dark cherry and confectionary with a touch of pepper on the back palate. Soft fine grained tannins with relatively short aftertaste of dark cherry, confectionary and spice. The wine lacks the power, texture and concentration of flavour that Sparky & Sarah Marquis used to deliver under this label.
