Produced from 67% McLaren Vale fruit and 33% Padthaway fruit. The wine is barrel fermented and matured in oak hogsheads and barriques with the breakdown as – 90% American, 10% French – 20% new oak, 40% one year old & 40% two year old oak.

The colour seems advanced for a 2006 – deep crimson red colour with brick red hue. The nose is somewhat restrained with subdued aromas of stewed plum, blackberry, confectionary and liquorice. The fruit is already drying out on the palate. Restrained flavours of confectionary, plum and blackpepper. Fine grained tannins with aftertaste of confectionary, plum and leather.
