2006 Dutschke St. Jakobi Single Vineyard Shiraz

In a very transient society where the average time spent at one residential address is around 3 years, the Semmlers family have occupied the St Jakobi vineyard site for 5 generations, in excess of 150 years. In the neighbouring Church of St Jakobi, four generations of Semmlers have been married.
Opaque black purple colour with black purple hue. Perfumed nose with top note of violet infusions followed by vanilla, cedar, spice and blackberry, delivering a wine of very good depth and flavour. Strong plum and black pepper flavours are evident followed by violet infusions and cedar. Fine grained tannins, perfect balance. Moderately long aftertaste.
