2006 Alkoomi Shiraz Viognier

Medium body almost semi translucent crimson mauve colour with crimson mauve hue. Light top note of spicy plum and blackberry followed by a hint of liquorice allsorts. The palate is delightful, for in spite of the light weight appearance (by Shiraz standards) the wine has plenty of flavour. Light spice, delicate dried apricot and blackberry followed by a hint of truffle. Fine grained tannins, excellent length. Aftertaste of spice, blackberry, black pepper and truffle with very spicy finish persisting.
