2005 Wilson Vineyard Polish Hill Riesling

2005 Rieslings in South Australia can be favorably compared with the outstanding quality of the 2002 vintage wines. The summer leading up to the vintage was mild with rain falling just as required. March and April were hot months, which saw the Riesling ripening in just over two weeks instead of the normal five week period. Bright, straw colour with green hue. The nose is aromatic with notes of lime and rose petal emerging. Fuller in body than the 2005 Wilson DJW Riesling, with lime and lemon flavours being dominant. Crisp acid backbone, perfect balance. Very long lime aftertaste.
