Matured for 20 months in new French barriques. Totally opaque inky black dark red colour with a very dark red black hue. The nose displays aromas of ripe plums, fennel, liquorice, cedary oak and spice. Medium to full bodied with a supple velvety mouthfeel the palate has flavours of ripe plums, fennel infusions and liquorice over some smoky cedar and spice. Silky smooth tannins. Aftertaste of ripe plum, fennel, liquorice and smoky cedar. It lacks varietal character.
