2005 Tarrington Vineyards Artemisia Chardonnay

A superb Chardonnay from Tarrington, produced from a warm year and not true to their pursuit of ‘Chablis styles’ however a very impressive wine in the Meursault mould.

Bright deep straw to pale gold colour with straw hue and just a hint of green. The nose is delicate, yet delightful, aroma of hazelnut, cashew and biscuit, followed by a yeast autolysis quality that is akin to Champagne. On the palate flavours of biscuit and smoked almond are evident, followed again by distinctive yeast flavour. Clean acid finish. Long aftertaste of almond nougat.
