2005 McLaren Ridge Shiraz Cabernet Franc Merlot

Bright crimson colour with crimson hue. Medium body. Top note of cedar followed by leather, light earth and spice. The palate displays some stewed fruit characteristics over tea leaf and cedar background. Dryish tannins. Aftertaste of stewed fruit and tea leaf.

First Tasted, February 2008:
Very deep crimson colour with crimson hue. Medium body. Top note of stewed fruit, followed by leather, earth and cedar showing some bottle development. On the palate flavours of new leather, cedar and stewed fruit emerge. Fine dry tannins, however the fruit is beginning to dry out. Aftertaste of old leather, stewed fruit and cedar.
