2005 Grosset Piccadilly Chardonnay

International wine writer Stuart Pigott maintains that Jeffrey Grosset infuses his wines with not only a sense of place and season but with a phenomenon he calls ‘the spirit of Jeff Grosset.’ Grosset is widely admired for his immensely disciplined approach to winemaking and meticulous attention to detail. Bright straw colour with pale straw hue. Superb lifted nose of hazelnut, cashew, melon and fig, showing layers of complexity. The palate has weight, creamy texture, with flavours of nougat, spice, hazelnut and cashew. Well balanced spice oak in the background. Clean finish. Very long aftertaste of spice, cashew, nougat, fig and melon.
