2005 Bass Phillip Old Cellar Chardonnay

A complex Chardonnay produced from yields of 1 tonne per acre. The wine has undergone a wild yeast ferment which has added an additional dimension to the wine. Bright pale gold colour with straw hue. Aroma of honeysuckle, yeast lees and cashew, delivering a pronounced barrel ferment character. Mouthfilling palate, flavours of biscuit, cashew and nougat are overlaid by a touch of citrus on the back palate. The character of the wine is refined with a sense of elegance, reflecting the cool climate of Gippsland, nonetheless it delivers plenty of flavour. Citrus, yeast lees aftertaste.
