2004 X & Y Cabernet Merlot

Advanced tawny colour. Semi translucent. Aroma of cedar, cigar box and stone fruit. The palate finish has dried out. Flavours of stewed fruit and cedar. Dry chalky tannins. Aftertaste of cedar, stewed fruit and earth.

Bright crimson colour with crimson hue. Medium body. Aroma of spice and blackcurrant followed by hints of truffle and spice. The palate is quite tight with flavours of blackcurrant and tea leaf evident over a dry tannin background which runs through to the aftertaste.
