2004 Winchelsea Estate Karalla Chardonnay

Karalla means "Big Yellow" – this is the ‘fat boy’ of the Winchelsea collection. This is the red wine drinkers Chardonnay – a Chardonnay to be enjoyed for its weight and concentration of flavour. Worked hard, with some of the juice pre oxidised to give the wine its deep golden yellow colour. Made under the influence of wild yeasts the wine over delivers in all aspects, delivering impressive creamy texture and very long flavour profiles.

Deep, brassy gold colour with gold straw hue. Aroma of biscuit, toasted oak, honey, honeycomb and hazelnut. The palate has generous creamy texture, with excellent length and depth of flavour. Layers of honey, honeycomb are juxtaposed with yeast lees, hazelnut and biscuit. Clean finish. Very long aftertaste of biscuit, yeast lees and hazelnut. A superb full bodied style that remains perfectly balanced.
