A relatively light Heathcote Shiraz without the voluptuous fruit character that we’ve been accustomed to. Opaque black crimson colour with deep crimson hue. The nose has an impressive lift – perfumed with notes of violets, spice and blackcurrant, followed by a touch of confectionery. The palate is generous – sort of ‘puppy fat’ rather than ‘curvaceous.’ Flavours of blackberry and spice emerge over a liquorice background. Very good length. Fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of stewed plum, blackberry and liquorice.
