The 2004 Vintage was exceptional in McLaren Vale, coming close to the superb 2002 Vintage. Totally opaque black purple colour with deep purple hue. The nose is youthful, brooding with exuberance, just looking for an audience to flex its aromatics to. Intense aroma of vanilla, mocha, blackberry and black pepper followed by a spicy endnote. The palate has outstanding weight with typical McLaren Vale ‘joosy’ ripe fruit flavours. Vanilla, blackberry, liquorice allsorts, ripe plum and spice. Excellent balance, with fine tannins. Very long aftertaste of plum, blackberry and mocha.
